Javier Bardem says he made “Dune” and “The Little Mermaid” for his children

A character who left “Dune: Part 2” as one of the public’s favorites, filing social media with memes, was Stilgar, played by Javier Bardem.

Participating in the Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend podcast, the actor commented on his motivations for making blockbuster films such as Dune and The Little Mermaid: his children Leo and Luna.

“I do Dune for him, I do The Little Mermaid for her… and I get both their salaries. It helps a little.”, said the actor, having fun with the memory.

Bardem also talked about the moment he talked to Rob Marshall about the role of King Triton in Disney’s live action and told his daughter.

“I said: ‘Luna, I’m going to do The Little Mermaid’. She looked at me and replied: ‘Are you going to be Ariel?'”, she said, making everyone on the podcast laugh.

Dune: Part 2 brings back several names from the first film’s star cast, such as Zendaya, Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin. Among the new additions, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, Léa Seydoux stand out.
