Miles Teller, known for roles in Top Gun: Maverick and Whiplash, is in negotiations to join the cast of Michael, a biopic about Michael Jackson. The information is from Deadline.
According to the publication, Teller would play one of the King of Pop’s lawyers. Which one, however, was not revealed.
Howard Weitzman was known for defending Jackson and his estate, particularly against creditor claims and accusations of pedophilia. Then there was Mark Geragos, who helped the star in the early stages of the 2005 sexual abuse case before being replaced by Thomas Mesereau.
Previously, it was confirmed that Nia Long will play Katherine Jackson, mother of Michael, Janet and the other siblings in the family.
The film has also found the king’s father and manager, Joe Jackson, who will be played by Colman Domingo. The two veterans join young Jaafar Jackson, who will play Michael Jackson.
Recently, the production also announced that it had found the actor who will play the child version of the singer. The chosen one was Juliano Krue Valdi, a 9-year-old newcomer who became popular on social media for covering Michael Jackson.
Antoine Fuqua (Training Day) will direct the project. Produced by Lionsgate and Graham King (Bohemian Rhapsody), the film features screenwriter John Logan, nominated for an Oscar for his work on Gladiator, The Aviator and Hugo.
