Gwyneth Paltrow criticizes too many Super hero films in Hollywood

In an interview with Hot Ones, Gwyneth Paltrow was grateful for her time at Marvel, but the actress seems to be tired.

The Oscar winner for Shakespeare in Love said there are too many films in the genre.

“I’m a little old to get into a uniform at this point in my life, but I feel really lucky to have been a part of it. I got into it because I was friends with Jon Favreau (director of Iron Man) and he convinced me. It was an incredible experience, and I loved seeing how important genre films have become to fans,” said the actress.

“(…) But I think, if you look at the industry as a whole, there is this kind of huge pressure to have superhero movies. I mean, you can only make, I mean, you can only make some films that feel like really original, and yet, they are always trying to reach as many people as possible, which sometimes harms quality (…)”, he added.

It is worth remembering that Pepper Potts debuted in the franchise led by Kevin Feige in 2008, in Iron Man. The character, initially personal assistant to Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), became the hero’s wife and head of Stark Industries, in addition to assuming the superheroic identity of Rescue in Endgame.

The Iron Man trilogy is available on Disney+.
