Life has not been the same for Lily James since her latest trip to Rome. The actress dramatically cancelled her appearance on the Graham Norton Show on Monday – just one day after she pulled out of a planned appearance on the Today show with co-star Armie Hammer.

The star, 31, was scheduled to be a guest on the BBC chat show on Friday to promote her Netflix drama Rebecca, alongside music legend Bruce Springsteen, actor Matthew McConaughey and British singer-songwriter Sam Smith.

But her appearance has been dropped, following further revelations about her intimate weekend in Rome with married co-star Dominic West, 50, in the Italian capital last weekend.

A press release sent out by show representatives on Monday stated that Lily’s Rebecca co-star Kristin Scott Thomas will feature instead, confirming: ‘Lily James will appear on the show at a later date.’

A hastily revised press release released on Monday morning then confirmed Lily’s absence with her co-star Kristin Scott Thomas featuring in her place.

It stated: ‘Joining Graham in the studio and on video call: rock legend BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, promoting his new album Letter To You; award-winning actor DAME KRISTIN SCOTT THOMAS, in the new Netflix adaptation of Rebecca…

‘[C]omedian MAWAAN RIZWAN, in the new season of Taskmaster; actor STEPHEN MANGAN, promoting Portrait Artist of the Year; and Oscar winner MATTHEW McCONAUGHEY, talking about his memoir Greenlights.

‘With music from SAM SMITH, who chats and performs their current single Diamonds.’

It comes after Lily is said to have pulled out of a planned appearance on the Today show amid the scandal.
