The President of the United States, Joe Biden, said this Friday (12) that Iran must attack Israel “sooner or later”, but warned Tehran not to proceed.
Asked by reporters about his message to Iran, Biden said simply: “Don’t do that,” and underlined Washington’s commitment to defending Israel.
“We are dedicated to the defense of Israel. We will support Israel. We will help defend Israel, and Iran will not succeed,” he said.
With that, Biden said he would not release security information, but said his expectation was that an attack could occur “sooner or later.”
Earlier, White House spokesman John Kirby said Iran’s supposedly imminent attack on Israel was a real and viable threat, but did not elaborate.
Kirby said the United States is analyzing its own force posture in the region in light of the threat from Tehran and watching the situation very closely.
