Donald Trump called the President of the United States, Joe Biden, for a debate through a social media post on Wednesday (6). Both are close to securing their parties’ nominations to contest the presidential election in November this year.
With this, the Republican pre-candidate stated on Truth Social, his social media platform, that he is ready to debate “anytime and anywhere”.
“It is important, for the good of our country, that Joe Biden and I debate issues that are so vital for America [United States] and for the American people”, he pointed out, also calling the national directory of the Democratic party corrupt.
It is worth remembering that the call for the debate took place one day after both confirmed their favoritism on Super Tuesday, the day on which 15 states and one US territory held primary votes, precisely to choose who the candidates for the November election will be.
Trump had a landslide victory over Nikki Haley, then his only opponent for the Republican nomination, losing only in Vermont. The former governor of South Carolina announced her withdrawal from the election campaign on Wednesday.
Joe Biden, who faced no opposition that could really complicate his electoral race, only lost in the territory of American Samoa to Jason Palmer.
