President Joe Biden won the Democratic Party primary in the state of South Carolina on Saturday (3), the party’s first official race.
Early results show Biden handily winning over the two other candidates, according to projections from Edison Research.
It is good to remember that the Democratic Party candidates are: Joe Biden, current US President, former US Vice President and former US Senator. Marianne Williamson, author of self-help books. And Dean Phillips, representative for the state of Minnesota.
Therefore, as Biden’s opponents in the party have little chance, the vote is considered an indicator of Biden’s popularity, especially among black voters.
Furthermore, four years ago, it was the vote of black voters in the South Carolina state primary that helped boost his Biden campaign.
The campaign worries that black voters in South Carolina won’t be as excited this time around.
Biden’s main problems are the following: his age, 81 years old, is considered very advanced. The prices of goods and services are considered high. There is a large flow of immigrants and there are considered to be problems at the US borders.
