Léa Seydoux says Hollywood is too hard on women

Date:

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, French actress Léa Seydoux spoke about her latest projects, experiences working in European cinema and in the United States, and more. However, attention was drawn to how the artist harshly criticized the American film industry.

“The industry in America is very hard on women. It’s hard for women to get older. I don’t want to be afraid of not being desirable anymore or losing a contract,” said Léa.

“In America it’s all about money, and when it becomes about making money, you lose your freedom. I don’t feel comfortable with the fact that you have to be perfect. Being a woman on screen in Europe is easier,” she added.

Léa Seydoux is currently in Dune: Part 2, where she plays Margot Fenring. In addition to Seydoux, the film stars Zendaya, Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin, Florence Pugh and Austin Butler.

Dune: Part Two is now showing in American theaters.
