The 64th Annual Grammy Award happened this last Sunday (3) at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. The biggest prizes were given to Olivia Rodrigo, Jon Batiste and Silk Sonic. Several artists as Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X performed at the stage, and raised signs from the audience present.
The show was opened by the duo Silk Sonic, formed by Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak. The retro-soul funk project won for song of the year with “Leave the door open”. They also took home the awards for record of the year and best R&B song. The best album of the year award went to Jon Batiste.
Newcomer Olivia Rodrigo won three of the main awards with her debut album “sour”. She took home best pop vocal album, pop solo performance with “Drivers license” and best new artist. “This is my biggest dream come true”, she said. She performed with the award winning song. Another highlight was the singer Doja Cat, who won with Sza pop duo/group performance for her hit “Kiss me more”.
The president of Ukraine gave an emotional speech and asked for peace. Then the singer John Legend played the music “Free” on the piano, featuring ukrainian artists Mika Newton and Lyuba Yakimchuk.
