More than 600,000 people lost electricity in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region after a Russian attack overnight into Sunday, Nov. 8, energy company DTEK said in a post on Telegram. The company reported that key energy facilities in the region had been damaged.

DTEK said engineers were working to repair the damaged facilities, but repeated attacks were making the work more difficult. As of the report, no information had been released about possible injuries caused by the strike.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on X that the situation was also difficult in the Kharkiv region. He reported widespread power outages across the country and said 140 residential buildings in the Zhytomyr region had lost heating after a Russian attack. Repair work was underway in nearly all affected cities and communities, he said.

Zelensky thanked energy workers and public utility employees working to restore water, electricity and heating for residents.
