‘Dune 2’ makes Timothée Chalamet break John Travolta’s 45-year record

The success of “Dune: Part 2” continues to impact the industry and break records. After the film surpassed the box office total of its predecessor in just one week, now, the success of “Dune” made its main star, Timothée Chalamet, break a record that was held by John Travolta 45 years ago.

Therefore, according to Collider, Chalamet is the first actor to star in two films that were among the box office of the year for two years in a row.

Travolta’s previous record was achieved in 1977 and 1978, with “Saturday Night Fever” and “Grease”, respectively.

Chalamet surpassed them with “Wonka” and now “Dune: Part 2”, which together already total more than US$1 billion.

“Dune: Part 2” brings back several names from the first film ‘s star cast, such as Zendaya, Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin. Among the new additions, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, Léa Seydoux and Tim Blake Nelson stand out.

The film is still showing in theaters.
